Rory — Chicken in Bras - cards for cancer

€3.50
On September 9th, 2009, painter, Hammond Journeaux, was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Like most who have survived this awful disease, Hammond is thankful and very happy to be still here today.

It was whilst having her chemotherapy treatment in Cork University Hospital, Hammond noticed that most men who were also sitting in the chemotherapy chairs having treatment, had an aura of profound sadness about them. It's difficult to be positive about anything in the middle of treatment, but Hammond wanted to inspire a sense of fun and to do something positive in a bad situation. So she decided to paint a series of cards.

The series is entitled Chuckling through Cancer and her beautifully created cards include the following:-

Series 1.
Cats in knickers; Dogs in Boxers; Chickens in Bras; Roosters in Ties.

Series 2 are:
Hares in Hats; Pigs in Footwear, Cows in Spectacles and Horses in Cutlery.

The cards measure 6" x 6" and the print is of an original image created by Hammond Journeaux and is printed on quality textured paper. It comes with an envelope and is in clear cellophane. The card is blank inside so you can insert your own message.

A percentage from the sale of each card will be donated for the support of cancer patients and their families. MadeinwestCork promises to donate one third of their profit from the sale of these series of cards to a local cancer charity.
